A strong start to the second half laid the foundations for this first round championship win for Scariff/Ogonelloe at Clooney on Saturday evening. St. Joseph's Louise Woods added one more before the break to leave the scoreline 1-2 to 0-3.
Scariff/Ogonnelloe returned in determined mood after the half time break with a goal inside the opening minute, Roisin O'Brien having won the first ball and sent it into the full forward line, where Danielle Sheedy struck to the back of the net.Erin Hennessy replied with a point, but Scariff/Ogonnelloe responded with three unanswered points from Scanlon and the Daly sisters Susan and Lynda heading into the final ten minutes.
